What a night!

Next Sunday from 4:30 - 6:00 pm we will host the first ever gathering of Elevation Church in our home! Trena and I are so excited we can barely stand it.  The kids are full of questions, wondering who will be here and how it all will work.  It is fun times at the Hamilton house as we look forward to next Sunday.

But tonight our home was filled with another group of people...our friends.  Around 35-40 of them.  Most will not be here next Sunday to witness the first gathering of Elevation Church.  Not because they don't love us or because they have better things to do, but because they are already committed members of other churches.  And we are glad they are!  But tonight our friends were here with us.  And while they were here they poured out their love on our family and their prayers over our church.  They prayed for the house, going into each room asking God to prepare a place for every person who will come.  They prayed for the children that will fill the playroom next Sunday and beyond.  They prayed in the kitchen and dining room where food will be served and great conversations will be had.  They prayed in the living room where we will gather and discuss the Word of God.  They prayed in the bedrooms for our marriage and for our kids.  Then they circled around us and prayed for our family.  And as they left through the front door tonight they prayed for every person who will come in through it next Sunday and every week after that.  Perhaps they prayed for you.  I hope so, and I look forward to meeting you when you come through that door!
