"When are you going to Colorado?"

Since September 23, 2009 Trena and I have known we are being called to plant a church in Colorado.  We made plans for where to live, when to move, and how to start the church.  We agreed that things would probably not go according to plan, and that we would deal with whatever came up when it came up.  Then "it" came up!  We found out the job transfer wouldn't happen (see blog post from Dec.21, 2009) AND we found out we are pregnant with our 3rd child (see blog post from Jan.6, 2010)!

All that being said, we are regularly asked when we are going to Colorado.  The answer we have come to understand through much prayer is, "We don't know."  That's not the answer we want, but for now its the truth.  We have peace about not knowing and are relying on God to lead us in his timing.  Until then, we will wait actively.  Trena is looking for employment options in Colorado...preferrrably still in pharmaceutical/medical sales and preferrably with her current company.  And the girls go about their regular daily business plus praying for the church we will plant and all the people in Colorado we hope to minister to.  I am working on the logistical side of church planting...reading books and articles on planting and church leadership, getting coaching from pastors who have successfully planted, filing legal docs, setting up banking, establishing proper book keeping/accounting.

Frankly some of  it's a little dry and boring, and it's time consuming, but it's all necessary.  I am thankful we won't have to deal with it once we are in Colorado.  Instead we can spend our time and energy getting to know people and embracing our new community.

Well, that's the update from here...still planting, still praying, still waiting.  Can't wait to answer the "when are you going" question with a hard and fast date.  Until then please continue to check in regularly and pray for us.  And please share this blog with your friends and family.  We would love to have them join us in this journey!
